Community Matters Grant Turner Food Pantry

#CommunityMatters

On April 22, 2024 our family lost its beloved matriarch, my husband’s Great-Aunt, our neighbor, and one of Dr. Pussums’ most dedicated and talented home stitchers, Marilyn (Mim) Shaw.

Our staff enjoyed her visits, her stories and her advice and she will be deeply missed by us, our family and our community.

Everything she stitched, from catnip toys to a quilt for every baby born and every couple married in her family was stitched with great love.

We were gifted some of her heavy weight fabric and we knew we wanted to do something special to honor her memory, her legacy and her commitment to our community.

Beginning today we will be offering “Catnip for Community” Catnip Toys (all made from Aunt Mim’s fabric) and 100% of the proceeds will be granted to a local community organization ( preference given to 5013cs) through a simple grant selection process. Catnip pillows are approximately 4×4 inches and made of heavy weight fabric.

The variable grant amounts will be granted monthly until her fabric is gone ( she had quite a lot) and all toys are sold.
