Tragic Accident

On the late evening of October 12, 2020, a local woman suffered a medical emergency and her car crashed through two rooms of our building.  It has been reported that she likely passed away before hitting the building and her passengers all made it out safely. Our hearts go out to the family and friends that are grieving her loss.

Our cats who live at the shop, Alfie, Angel & Cabo had a guardian angel for sure as they survived the horrific crash unharmed. A huge thanks to all who assisted the family in their time of need including Turner Fire & Rescue ( especially Firefighter Jay AKA Best.Cat.Wrangler.EVER) Maine State Police and especially the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Duputy that rescued Cabo from beneath the rubble.

It has been a long week.  We humbly thank all of our customers and community members who have been patient and offered kind words and support where they can.  We had so many volunteers this week helping us clean and sort and reorganize it has been overwhelming.  We have set up a temporary workspace in the back half of our building that was unaffected and squeezed the rest in a storage unit.  We lost a lot of furniture and equipment but only about 15% of our finished inventory so as of Friday, October 16th, we began shipping backed up orders and are now caught up and shipping on the same or next business day as usual!

Once the repairs to the front half of the building are complete, we will move back in and reopen our retail space for walk-in customers. Please follow us on Facebook & Instagram @drpussums for continuing progress updates.  Thank you all again for your patience and support.
